Overview
Redeeming your fGLD or fSLVR tokens means exchanging them for physical gold or silver bars shipped to your home address in Norway. The physical metal is stored at one of pro aurum's vault locations in Germany.
Finest's role is to redeem your tokens and unlock the metal at pro aurum. Shipping is entirely your responsibility - FedEx is the recommended option. There are no redemption fees. You pay only for shipping.
Before You Start
You must have completed KYC (identity verification) on finest.investments before a redemption request can be processed. If you haven't done this yet, log in and complete the verification process before proceeding.
Step-by-Step: How to Redeem
Step 1 - Contact Finest Investments

- The number of whole tokens you want to redeem (1 fGLD = 1g gold, 1 fSLVR = 100g silver bar — tokens can only be redeemed in whole units)
Step 2 - Finest Prepares Your Metal
Finest Investments processes your request and coordinates with their custodian, pro aurum GmbH, to prepare your physical gold or silver. Processing takes up to several business days. pro aurum will confirm which vault location your metal is held at.
Step 3 - Coordinate with pro aurum

Step 4 - Book FedEx Shipping and Send the Label
Go to fedex.com and book a shipment from the pro aurum branch address to your Norwegian home address. You will receive a PDF shipping label — send this PDF to pro aurum at trading@proaurum.de. They will arrange the FedEx pickup from their end.
FedEx generates the customs documentation automatically based on what you enter when booking — you do not need to prepare a pro forma invoice yourself. When filling in the shipment details on fedex.com, you will be asked for commodity information. Use the following:

The service used for Norway is FedEx Regional Economy. A real shipment from pro aurum to Oslo took 4 business days from pickup to delivery, routing through Langenhagen (Germany) → Helsingborg (Sweden) → Lillestrøm (Norway) → local delivery.
Customs clearance: Norwegian Customs may place the shipment under a brief regulatory review — this is normal for precious metals. In a confirmed shipment, a one-day hold at Lillestrøm cleared the same day with no action required on the recipient's side.

The freight charge is non-taxable — no VAT on the shipping cost itself. Final price depends on weight, box dimensions, and current FedEx rates. FedEx bills on dimensional weight, not actual weight, which can push the billed weight higher than the physical weight of your metal.
Step 5 - Receive Your Metal
Your gold or silver arrives at your Norwegian address, insured and tracked throughout transit. You can track the shipment in real time on fedex.com using the tracking number from your booking.
Give the outer packaging a quick look before signing - just check for any obvious damage or signs of tampering. The package is straightforward to verify: pro aurum states the total transport weight (including packaging) in their dispatch notification, so you can easily confirm it on a scale without opening anything. pro aurum packs all shipments under camera surveillance, so the contents are fully documented. In practice, deliveries arrive without issue.

What You Receive
- fGLD: Physical gold slab bars, 999.9/1000 purity, 1g per token, from LBMA-certified manufacturers (Valcambi, Heraeus, or similar)
- fSLVR: Physical silver bars, 100g per token (e.g. Heraeus Feinsilber 999.9, LBMA Good Delivery standard)
Tokens are whole units only - you cannot redeem fractions of a token.

Do I pay anything to redeem?
No. Redemption itself is free. You pay only for FedEx shipping.
How long does the process take?
Finest processes redemption requests within several business days. Add shipping transit time on top of that.
Is there a minimum redemption amount?
The minimum is 1 token. 1 fGLD = 1g gold, 1 fSLVR = 100g silver bar. Redeeming more tokens in a single order reduces the shipping cost per gram.
Do I need to be KYC verified?
Yes. Only verified users can redeem tokens. Complete identity verification on finest.investments before requesting.
How is gold or silver taxed in Norway when I sell it?
Any gain is taxable as capital gains (kapitalgevinst) at 22% (2024/2025 rate). Losses are deductible. Your cost basis is the purchase price plus all import costs (VAT and FedEx disbursement fee). Keep documentation of both.
Will I pay customs or import duties when shipping to Norway?
No customs duty (tollavgift) applies - the rate is 0% for both gold (HS 7108) and silver (HS 7106). However, Norwegian VAT (MVA) of 25% is charged on the customs value (product value + freight + insurance) for both metals at import.
FedEx pays the VAT on your behalf and charges you an additional disbursement fee:

For a 100g silver bar, the VAT will typically fall in the first bracket - the 139.50 NOK minimum almost always applies at that size. Factor both the VAT and the disbursement fee into your total cost when planning a redemption.
Can Finest refuse a redemption?
Yes. Finest reserves the right to refuse redemption if there is suspicion of fraudulent activity or violations of applicable law.
What if I want to pick up in person instead?
Physical pickup is available at pro aurum branches in Germany. The redemption process is the same — start by emailing redeem@finest.investments. Finest will send you a release form (Auslieferungsantrag) to fill in and sign. Once that is processed, contact pro aurum by email to book an appointment at your preferred branch before travelling. For Norwegian customers, home delivery via FedEx is the more practical option.
